Lo que empieza como un incidente menor despierta en él la necesidad de encontrarle un sentido a su vida, desembocando en una obsesión descontrolada con la invasión de una plaga. A medida que sus métodos de control fracasan y su aislamiento crece, se ve arrastrado en una espiral de paranoia.
